I love how authentic and warm this family is. From when we first started getting to know them, they have always been very open with their home, even when it’s far from clean & tidy or “Pinterest worthy,” and I’m thankful for that example. I often tend to think that I shouldn’t invite people in unless the house is clean, the baby is wearing something other than pajamas, glamorous food has been prepared, we have enough of the right furniture, we have a manicured yard….blah, blah, blah. They have put my expectations for myself and my living space right where they belong…in the trash. Sometimes I still try to snatch them back out of there, but then they’re the same as they always are: icky and false. So thank you for being an amazing example of hospitality for me!
In other super exciting news, the Newkirks are also going to be opening their home to a new member soon! Adoption is such a beautiful example of God’s love for us, and an incredible way to show love to a child and a family who need it. Thank you for including me in a small part of this process! I’m so excited to see who joins the family. 🙂
