(My) Mother Daughter Session

I want to talk about something that people don’t talk about very often. We don’t like to talk about it because it’s uncomfortable, and sad, and we’d rather pretend it won’t happen.
But the truth is, we’re not always going to have the people that we love. This world is broken, and that means that life is short, and we don’t get to keep our loved ones here forever. Thankfully, we get to see them again if we know Jesus, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t ache deeply while we miss them here.
I was thinking about this the other day when I drove past these gigantic beautiful lilac bushes, which always make me think of my mother. I realized that I’m probably not going to have my mom forever, and that I don’t have any really good photographs of just me and her. And that when that day comes, I knew that would be something I would desperately want to have.
So I made a phone call, enlisted my husband (the other half of Kira Adele Photography), and we got out there. And now we have these images that we get to treasure now, and I will treasure deeply in the future. I am so glad I didn’t wait. ❤️

If reading this made you realize that there is a relationship in your life that you want to immortalize, please send me an email! I would love to be a part of preserving that for you!

Love,
Kira
